Welcome,
I am a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about improving the lives of those I serve. I frequently work with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I consider it an honor and responsibility to provide the best possible mental health services to my clients and therefore strive to be as well informed as possible regarding the most effective evidence-based treatments.
The therapeutic interventions I rely most strongly upon are cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, interpersonal process, and mind/body techniques. Increasingly, I work with what are known as "third-wave psychotherapies" which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Additionally, I have strong training in the utilization of various relaxation techniques and believe in the importance of addressing not just the mind, but the whole body within the therapeutic space. My training in these techniques has given me a respect and familiarity with holistic forms of healing and how they can enhance traditional psychotherapy.
My commitment to science is combined with an awareness that there is much we "do not yet know" and may never know fully. For many, faith-based or spiritual beliefs fall into this category, and I believe it is important to integrate such beliefs and values into the therapeutic space when that is sought by my clients. Therefore, I welcome my clients to openly share how their lives have been shaped by their religious or spiritual values and to allow those values to guide aspects of our therapeutic work.
I believe there are many paths to a connected and meaningful life and strive to offer a space where all values are supported, from atheism to people of diverse faiths. It is my goal to provide you with the best of both science and spirit and this may take different forms for different clients.
If you are looking for a therapist who strives to help you stay attuned to the larger purpose of your life, who understands and is familiar with holistic forms of healing while also having strong scientific training, who knows she does not have all the answers but can guide you to the right questions, I may be the therapist for you.
Please...take your time, look around a bit, and get to know my services more.
Regardless of whether we work together, I wish you comfort and peace on your journey to health and wholeness.
